Zovo JSON to Spreadsheet
Turn JSON into a clean Excel sheet.
Zovo JSON to Spreadsheet turns a JSON file or pasted JSON into an Excel workbook and a CSV. Each record becomes a row. Nested keys become dotted columns such as address.city, in the order they first appear. Lists of plain values are joined into one cell, and lists of objects go to linked sheets with a row id. Long numbers such as 20-digit ids are kept as text, so no digit is lost. Before you download, both files are read back and each cell is compared with the JSON.
What it does
- Lists of records, single objects, column lists or records keyed by id
- Nested keys as dotted columns, in first-seen order
- Lists of objects in linked sheets with _row and _parent_row
- Numbers over 15 significant digits kept as text, listed by cell
- Formula-like text stored as text, not run
- Each cell read back from the XLSX and the CSV before the links are given
Try asking
“Convert this JSON array of orders to Excel”
“Turn the attached API response into a spreadsheet, using the records under data.items”
“What keys and nesting does this JSON have before I convert it?”
Limitations
- Up to 50,000 cells per call, 2,000 columns per sheet, 30 sheets and 20 levels of nesting; files up to 5 MB, pasted JSON up to 1,000,000 characters
- Strict JSON only: comments, trailing commas, single quotes, NaN and JSON Lines are refused with the line and column
- Dates stay as text, as written in the JSON
- Cells longer than 32,767 characters are cut in the XLSX (Excel's limit) and listed; the CSV keeps the full text
- UTF-8 and UTF-16 with a byte order mark only
